The Carl Mollerup scrapbook consists of newspaper clippings, performance programs, and correspondence documenting his career as a musician and band conductor from 1909-1916.
Carl Mollerup immigrated from Denmark to the United States in 1889. He played the cornet throughout Europe and the U.S before settling in Salt Lake City, Utah. From 1912-1914 he directed his own band, Mollerup’s Military Band, for Salt Lake City’s municipal band concerts in the parks. In 1915 he was hired to organize and direct the Boise Municipal Band, which he led and played in through 1916.
